The Young Democrats of America will hold their 2008 Spring Conference in Nashville, Tennessee.

The YDA Rural Caucus meeting is tentatively scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 1.

With the 2008 Texas Young Democrats Convention now one for the history books, the TYD Rural Caucus is moving into our second year. In true Rural Caucus style, we held our meeting around a pick-up truck outside the facility that housed the Convention's general session.

Among other business was the election of officers for the coming year. The results of the election are as follows:

Justin Hudspeth, Treasurer

Our new Chair has outlined some bold and exciting goals to be accomplished over the next year. Look for a lot of great things from this Caucus in the coming months.

Join Us For The TYD Convention

The Texas Young Democrats will hold their 76th Annual Convention this coming weekend, and the TYD Rural Caucus encourages every interested Texan to take part.

Join us in Austin as we meet with fellow young Democrats from across our great state. Take part in committee meetings that will set the course for our dynamic organization. Meet with other young people that share your interest in a variety of issues by joining one of the many caucus groups.

The convention gets started Friday evening. Complete details are available on the TYD website.

The TYD Rural Caucus is currently scheduled to meet at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 13, at the Savage Vanguard Theater, located at 2803 Manor Road in Austin. We have a lot of important business to handle, so plan to be there on time. In addition to formally adopting the governing documents of our Caucus, we'll also be electing officers for the coming year.
